BioCampus Straubing GmbH

We are the biobased business development agency for Straubing, Bavaria’s region of renewable raw materials and bioeconomy. As subsidiary of the Port of Straubing, we develop the Port as a prime location for the biobased economy, focussing on industrial biotechnology and chemical-material, as well as cascading use of biomass.
We are dedicated to the European bioeconomy, the region of Straubing and, above all, to serving our customers’ needs. With this objective in mind, we provide individualized innovation, networking and technology transfer-oriented services for start-ups, SMEs and multinationals interested in Straubing as aspiring flagship location for the European bioeconomy. A specific focus is put on start-up support for young companies aiming to perpetuate the change from a fossil-based to a biobased economy by putting innovative products and processes on the market. The core here is our biannual start-up competition “PlanB – Biobased.Business.Bavaria”, which is co-funded by the Bavarian Ministry for Economy, Energy and Technology. Additionally, with our location in the Port of Straubing, we offer a broad portfolio of infrastructure solutions for individual needs from one-time events to a corporate address and site: fully equipped conference and event facilities, high-end lab and office spaces in Bavaria’s only entrepreneurial center for renewable raw materials as part of our technology and start-up incubation center, ready-to-build industrial plots from S to XXL, trimodal logistics with options to facilitate in- and outbound logistics via the Danube, shared services, planned solutions for process upscaling and much more.
We are convinced that networking is key – therefore, we work in close cooperation with our regional Bavarian, national and international partners from the bioeconomy’s industrial and research realm to realize tailor-made solutions for our customers.
Until 2024, we will pan and build the BioCampus MultiPilot, an open-access, multipurpose plant for scale-up of industrial biotech processes, funded by the Free state of Bavaria. For more information on the BMP, please contact us.

Institut für angewandte Biopolymerforschung (ibp) / Hochschule Hof
www.ibp-hof.de
